# Message your accountant

**Messages** gives you direct contact with your accountant in Booko. Handy for questions about an invoice, a booking or your books.

## Steps

1. Click **Messages** in the menu.
2. Click **New conversation**, or open an existing one.
3. Optionally fill in **Subject (optional)**. Leave it empty to keep using one general conversation.
4. Is your question about an invoice? Choose **Link invoice (optional)**.
5. Want to attach a file? Click **Attach file**.
6. Type your message and click **Send**.

## From an invoice

On **Revenue**, open **Actions** next to an invoice and choose **Ask accountant to review**. The invoice is linked to your message.

## Good to know

- The number of new messages shows next to **Messages** in the menu and under **Needs attention** on the **Overview**.
- **Unread** filters conversations you haven't read yet.
- Your accountant is not Booko support. For questions about the app itself, use **Need help?**.

## Still stuck?

- Seeing **You don't have an accountant linked yet.**? Ask your accountant to invite you, or connect with a code (see "Connect your accountant with a code").
- **Not sent.** on a message? Click **Retry message**.
- Conversations won't load (**Conversations could not be loaded.**)? Click **Try again**. If it keeps failing, ask for a colleague in the chat.
