# Set up your administration (onboarding)

After signing up, Booko walks you through a few steps to set up your administration. At the top you'll always see "Step X of Y".

## Steps

1. **Accountant** – Answer **Do you have an accountant?**
   - **Yes, I have an accountant**: you connect your administration with your firm's code.
   - **No, I do it myself**: you keep your own books in Booko.
2. **Code** (only if you have an accountant) – Enter **Your accountant's code** (for example BK-7F3K-9QPW) and click **Send code**. See "Connect your accountant with a code".
3. **Company** – Search for your company under **Company name or KvK number** (at least 2 characters). Pick your company; Booko fills in the details from the KvK. Check them and click **Save and continue**.
   - Not registered with the KvK? Choose **Not registered with the KvK? Enter manually**.
   - Under **Additional details (optional)** you can add your VAT ID, legal form and IBAN.
4. **Subscription** – Choose Starter or Pro (see "Plans and pricing"). If your accounting firm pays, you'll see that here.
5. **Done** – Click **Go to my administration**.

## Good to know

- You can stop halfway with **Sign out**; next time you sign in you continue where you left off.
- If the KvK search isn't working, you can enter your details manually.
- Booko support will never ask for your IBAN, password or login codes in chat. Only enter them yourself in the app.

## Still stuck?

- Seeing **We couldn't load your details.**? Check your internet connection and click **Try again**.
- Stuck on a step, or keep getting **Finishing didn't work**? Ask for a colleague in the chat.
