API and CLI access for accountants

For technical firms, Booko offers a command-line tool (booko-accountant) and a connection for AI agents (MCP), such as Claude or Codex. With it you can work with your clients' data using your own accountant account.

Where to find it

1. Go to Settings > API & CLI access.
2. Booko agent connector shows whether the tool is available for your account and which downloads exist.

How it works (in short)

• The tool only works with an accountant account. Other accounts are rejected.
• You sign in through the Booko website and give permission there with Authorize. Your password never goes to the tool itself.
• The tool can't do anything you aren't allowed to do in the app: your role and permissions still apply.
• Risky changes require extra confirmation, and there is a dry-run mode to see what would happen first.

Good to know

• Seeing Disabled (The CLI is not enabled for this account.) or Not ready yet? No download has been configured for your account yet.
• Never share access tokens or passwords in the chat or in prompts. Booko support will never ask for them.
